RPHS Law is pleased to announce that it acted as transactional legal advisor in connection with the acquisition of the assets and liabilities of Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. Branch in Kosovo by Banka Ekonomike Sh.A., both licensed financial institutions operating in Kosovo.
The transaction marks a strategic divestment by Türkiye İş Bankası A.Ş. from the Kosovo market and a significant portfolio expansion for Banka Ekonomike Sh.A., strengthening its market presence and customer base within Kosovo’s banking sector. The acquisition, signed on April 23, 2025, and followed approval by the regulatory authorities, represents one of the most complex transactions of its kind in the country in terms of legal structure and regulatory considerations.
RPHS Law provided end-to-end legal advisory throughout the transaction, including drafting and structuring the asset and liability transfer agreement and advising on regulatory compliance and approvals needed for closing at the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and the Competition Authority of the Republic of Kosovo.
