Duties and responsibilities:
- Keeps cases organized by organizing respective files; monitoring calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into the case file database and case management software; confirming case status with the attorneys;
- Helps develop cases by maintaining contact with parties involved in the case; scheduling meetings; preparing and forwarding summonses and subpoenas; drafting complaints; preparing and filing discovery requests; preparing responses to opposing counsel;
- Keeps clients informed by discussing cases progress;
- Prepares drafts of contracts, legal opinions, and other submissions for the needs of the Clients;
- Assists in case preparation by preparing case summaries and materials; preparing pleadings; monitoring and obtaining discovery responses; organizing materials for team case review;
- Assists in preparing for trial proceedings by organizing evidence, preparing exhibits, and taking courtroom notes;
- Pleads in court hearings of the civil/economic disputes;
- Upgrades the performance of the team by participating in educational opportunities, reading, and sharing professional publications with colleagues;
- Accomplishes company goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities that add value to job accomplishments and business opportunities.
- Other duties in line with the work in a law firm;
Qualifications, work experience, and skills:
- University degree from the Faculty of Law;
- At least two (2) years of work experience in the legal field;
- Strong communication and legal writing skills;
- Excellent knowledge of the English Language;
- Knowledge of working in Microsoft applications and Google Drive; and
- The bar exam is an advantage, but not required.
